POLO

Sunday we meet up with some of our friends and took the boys to their first Polo Match! They love horses so we thought they were going to be fascinated with them.....instead they were my little social bugs. They ran for almost two hours, resting in between for some snacks!

My friend Jessica took this photo ( probably my favorite of the boys)! They were running on the field to get the divots. They were so excited at the opportunity to stomp on the divots. Nicolas broke out into his "Classic Happy Dance" after he would stomp on it.

Beautiful Addison - a.k.a. .."Baby Addison"- as the boys love to call her. They also tell her they "love her to the moon and back"! She was the perfect Polo Girl- showing her support in her pink polo shirt!

If you can see below- the boys have their own monkey chairs - perfect for a polo match! Although we are using one to put the chips on!

Craft Time With The Boys

With very active little boys I had to come up with something fun for the afternoons. So each day afternaps if we are not outside, we have indoor "Craft Time" which usually last about 20-25 minutes. It is so exciting watching them try these activities for the first time and see them have so much concentration and fun! Creativity has always been one of my stronger assets so I truly enjoy thinking of things and doing it with them. Being at home with them- this is one of the greatest little perks!

So we discovered paint brushes work just as good!

Last week Nicolas slept in very late so Christian and I decided to make " Dinosaur Homes" for their dinosaurs. We took Ziploc boxes and pasted paper over it. Then we colored and drew windows and doors. We even used the the colorful fuzzy sticks for grass!

Some of the other crafts we have been doing include:

• We made Homade Valentines - we learned about the shape of the heart. We made extra hearts and hung them from out kitchen light.
• We used construction paper and cut shapes and colors to make bumble bees ( yellow oval for body, orange triangle for tail, green for wings, circle for head and lines for stripes and antennas.
• ONE OF MY FAVORITES: I took white construction paper cut into a large sheep and we colored the head and legs. Then we glued cotton balls all over the body and worked on the concept of "soft".

Dancing Boys Again

This video will melt your heart at the pure joy Nicolas and Christian feel when I surprise them that they can watch " Yo Gabba Gabba". I know its pure joy because they break into the happy dance! They don't stop dancing until the intro is over. I am embarrassed to admit- yes this is YO GABBA GABBA. I don't let them watch it often- only when I am really desperate at 4:30pm and their is some "grumpiness" in the household. I guess I don't like it only because it seems like they get into this trance once the intro is over ( as you can see at the end of this video). The show talks about nice topics like sharing but it just has odd characters.

Oh... and ..no their little table is not normally this close to the TV- I promise!!!

Sweet Little Men

I apologize if these are still blurry - I am so bummed about the way this camera works!!
But here are a few photos and updates.

Boys are talking up a storm. Their vocabulary and communication grows everyday. They are saying putting three to four words together to try and communicate. I haven't been able to blog as much because we are pretty much on one nap a day and SO BUSY!! I will write more in the next blog on what they are doing and mile stones. But we cut all o Nicolas's hair again since these photos.

Big Boys

Our big boys moved from their highchairs to their booster seats and they love it!!!Aunt Deb and Aunt Di also got them their little chairs for Christmas. Christian not feeling so great but happy to have his new chair to lay in!

Having Twins is the Best!

I love having two little boys at the same age- especially this age. Simply the best. It is so special seeing their bond development and how they treasure each other. Everyday, they do something so sweet that it brings tears to our eyes. They love holding hands when they go places. Yesterday I took Christian for a walk by himself and on our way home Ken took Nicolas out to see us and when Nicolas saw us, he came running as fast as he could....calling for Christian. Yes, it is hard work juggling two little guys and giving them my whole being to balance the attention to help them grow to be happy little men......and I don't have much of a life right now but it is so worth it when I see how happy they are and how much love they have for each other and us. Today Nicolas walked up to me, gave me a big hug and said "love u mommy"! I just melted and I couldn't hold back the tears. That first year was such a blur for us, now I can actually take the time and enjoy every moment with them. THANK GOODNESS it is getting EASIER!!!

Holiday Parade

I can't even begin to explain the complete JOY Ken and I felt when we took the boys to their first holiday parade! We were hesitant because it was at bedtime and it was cold here, but we bundled up and did it! The boys were in their glory, they laughed throughout most of the evening and loved all the lights, noises and entertainment. Their favorite part of the whole parade was the motorcycle's! We stopped for pizza on the way back which would make any Friday night perfect in our family!
